What is WhitehouseCountdown.com?
WhitehouseCountdown.com is an online service that allows members to play games, participate in user forums, set up personal profiles, share comments, and view other member’s personal profiles. Members fill in their own personal profiles and determine how much information, if any, they wish to make viewable to other members. Members can modify their profiles at any time. Non-members may play the games on the site but they may not post comments or see User Profiles, and their scores will not be tracked.

How does Whitehouse Countdown use and collect information?
WhitehouseCountdown collects member provided information such as name, email address, and age to enroll members, to keep track of game and activity scores, and to communicate with members about the service. WhitehouseCountdown.com also collects other information for member profiles including but not limited to: gender, age, and occupation. We use this information only to operate and provide you the features and functionality of Whitehouse Countdown.com.

Occasionally, WhitehouseCountdown or an affiliate or partner organization, may hold a contest or special promotion on the site. If you wish to participate, you may be asked to provide personal information or to answer questions. In those cases, it will be clear who is collecting the personal information and whose privacy statement applies. We do not use any of your personally identifiable information or email address to send you commercial messages or partner marketing messages unless you specifically opt-in for such emails.

WhitehouseCountdown logs non-personally-identifiable information including IP address, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and visitors to the site. This information is used to manage the website, track usage and improve the website services. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes.

Can Visitors Communicate via WhitehouseCountdown?
WhitehouseCountdown.com members can invite friends to join the service by sending invitation emails, provided by the site. Only members can post comments in public forums, however all visitors can see these comments. WhitehouseCountdown members can communicate with other members by inviting them to join their Friends group. Also, members can post comments in various areas of the site and respond to each other’s views. Please note, comments posted on public forums can be accessed by the general public, which means they can use this information to contact you if you reveal any personally identifiable information in those forums.

Does Whitehouse Countdown use cookies ?
WhitehouseCountdown.com uses cookies to store user preferences and to record session information. We do this to try to customize advertising and Web page content, where applicable. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information. You may be able to set your browser to accept or reject all or some cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set -- each browser is different, so check the "Help" menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences -- however, you must enable cookies from whitehousecountdown.com in order to use most functions on the site. WhitehouseCountdown contains links to other sites.WhitehouseCountdown.com is not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices on other sites. When you link to another site, you should read their policy statement.

Can I opt out of email communication?
Any email communication that is sent to you will contain an opt-out option so you may opt out at any time. However, you can not opt out of the initial email communication in which we confirm your registration, nor can you opt out of emails which contain important information regarding your membership status.

What about account security?
Your account is kept private by your member-created password. While we make every reasonable effort to protect your account information, we cannot guarantee the security of member account information.


Does WhitehouseCountdown ever share or disclose personal information it collects?
Unless we specifically note an exception in our privacy policy we will not disclose any personal information to another party unless it is required to: 1) conform to the law or a legal process; 2) protect our legal rights and enforce our Terms of Use policy 3) to protect member and/or public safety.
